Teaching Large Classes

For many, the large class is one of the biggest teaching challenges. Whether your definition of large is 50 or 500, the issues of engagement, classroom management and assessment are distinctly different than in smaller courses. The teachers featured in this section have been successful in dealing with these issues and challenges. They have offered to share their personal experiences, some course materials, and aspects of their course design. They have also shared their approaches to solving the problems they encountered as their courses evolved from being teacher and content-centered to learner-centered.
